The Brief Therapy Training Institute of Philadelphia
Ericksonian Approaches To Hypnosis and Psychotherapy
The Brief Therapy Training Institute is a 1 year, 100 hour training program for therapists, social workers, psychologists, and physicians. Students enrolled in a Masters and/or Doctoral program are also eligible for training.
Students will become proficient in Ericksonian approaches to hypnosis and psychotherapy. The work of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. will be examined in great detail, namely the streams of therapy that flow from his clinical work. These include: Ericksonian hypnosis; solution-focused therapy; strategic therapy; neurolinguistic programming; and self-relations therapy.
The training program is highly experiential in nature, with a primary focus on practicing these techniques. Tests, papers, and grades are pleasantly absent from the experience of learning to develop and enhance the skills connected to this strength based, future-focused approach to facilitating therapy. Readings will be assigned and DVD’s of master clinicians will be presented.
There are three levels to the training: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each level is approximately 32 hrs. Classes typically meet on a Friday or Saturday for 4 hours 2x’s per month.
